A few years ago I caught some TV coverage of the Goodwood Members Meeting and thought it looked like the kind of thing I’d better go to sometime. Then a few months back a friend mentioned his dad was getting some tickets and would order a few extra if we fancied going. So me and Jem and a few friends all went a long.
It was certainly a good day with some nice old machines to watch racing and get up close to for a proper nose at all the oily bits if you’re like me and like doing that kind of thing. 😉
There is even some evening entertainment with fireworks at the end of the night plus plenty of choice for nicer food instead of the usual car show options of a dirty donkey burger or a dodgy hot dog.
They keep tickets sales down for this event too so you aren’t constantly surrounded by millions of other people getting in the way and queuing for ages for everything. Too many other people is what stops me going to most car events now. The Goodwood Breakfast Club is a perfect example. I went to that quite a few times when it was a smaller gathering, now it’s packed with too many people I can’t be bothered.
Anyhow here are a few pictures and video clips of the day.
Our tickets and house badges.
I love F40’s so much!
and the McLaren F1. I can never quite pick a favorite between them just that they are above all else except maybe the McLaren P1 oh and I do really like the Nissan GTR and well classic Mini’s obviously. OK I can’t pick a favorite. 🙂
I really appreciate how the livery perfectly matches the layout underneath.

With the racing all over there’s plenty to do and see in the evneing. They make an effort to make the place look nicer than most racing events too.
The great hall
Wall of death! Well worth seeing.
Back to some cars.
Guys working late to repair for the next day.
Bikes aren’t really my thing but I like this one.
All round well worth going if you can get tickets. Don’t forget the dress code and I always say if you’re not wearing brown shoes at Goodwood then you’re not doing it right. 😉
