MX5 – General Tidying Jobs

(First posted on MX5 nutz forum in January 2016) Got some other bits done to help tidy up the look of the car. Passenger side window frame was looking a bit tatty and so were the wipers so I prepped and painted them black.  Forgot to take some pics of them after though.   Also […]

MX5 – DIY Wheel Refurb and Colour Change

(First posted on MX5 nutz forum in December 2015) The wheels really needed a refurb. A previous owner had just gone over them with a spray can of black which I guess was a quick and cheap way to make them look a bit better.  They clearly hadn’t been prep’d as the paint was starting […]

MX5 – DIY Wheel Alignment

(First posted on MX5 nutz forum in October 2015) Next thing on the list was 4 wheel alignment.  I like doing things myself if I can so I do it the old school way with string, well fishing line actually.  Having slightly stretched tyres and a bit of poke on the wheels makes this much […]

MX5 – Gearbox, Turret and Diff Oils

MX5 – Exhaust Shield and Compression Test

(First posted on MX5 nutz forum in May 2015) The air filter was getting very hot so I quickly made a heat shield.  Doesn’t get anywhere near as warm now. Bit of CAD to start with. I always do a compression test as a record in case of any future problems. Pictures for my records […]

MX5 – Hardtop and Timing

(First posted on MX5 nutz forum in May 2015) got a hardtop the other day.  surprised how much it improves the chassis rigidity. thought i may as well do the diagnostics flashy light thing and check the timing as I know a previous owner had set it to 14 degrees. all good.
