When you’re spraying any kind of paint you can guarantee it will end up on everything, not just the bits you want to paint. It amazes me how many body shops haven’t figured this out given the number of cars I’ve seen that have had paintwork done and are covered in over spray.
So when I say I am masking the car I mean it, this might seem a bit overkill to some but if you’ve ever done any paint spraying before you’ll know this is completely necessary if you don’t want to spend an extra day removing over spray from the car afterwards.
The best things for the job were these. Some plastic dust sheet and some cling film. Plus a couple of rolls of masking tape.
Shiny bits covered.
Cling film was perfect for wrapping the brakes…
..and exhaust/hoses/wiring etc
I covered the brake lines with masking tape.
I also didn’t want to cover the garage walls with splodges of black Dinitrol so I bought some cheap tarpaulins to hang over the walls and one to separate the back of the garage.
Well it took 2 days to get this far but finally it’s ready for spraying…..
