I spent a few months searching before buying this A6 Avant in Sept 2023. I was only interested in getting one with the 3.0 BiTdi as they are genuinely very quick due to all that torque and the ZF 8 speed gearbox as used in the RS6, Bentleys and various other performance cars. It also had to be an Avant because they just look best and this one being an S-Line Black Edition means it looks even better.

I’d happily keep this as it’s such a great all round machine to use every day or cover long distance and has the best audio I’ve ever had in a car. After 6 months searching, I’ve just bought a VW T6 Transporter Camper and unfortunately I don’t have space for both. Typically, I’ve spent a bunch of time and money on the Audi, just before finding a camper but that’s cars for you and means the new owner will benefit form a new MOT, tyres and a freshly serviced engine so nothing to spend right away.

Servicing and maintenance carried out during my ownership over the last 2 years:
Engine Oil and Filter service on 26th Oct 2025 and Oct 2024
New Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyres fitted 14 Oct
Rear subframe prepared, neutralised and protected on advise of MOT tester last month
All 6 Injector Seals replaced by diesel injection specialist Feb 2025 (standard for these to need doing on any V6 at around 100k miles)
New Varta AGM Battery, correctly coded in
Air filter replaced
MAF sensor replaced with new genuine Hitachi item (no issue, preventative maintenance)
Swirl flap removed and decoked
Front and Rear Differential Oils replaced with Millers oil
Centre Diff Oil replaced with correct specification oil
Gearbox Oil replaced with genuine ZF Oil (ZF say the oil should be changed but Audi say this is a lifetime fill so there are many of these out there very much due a change)
Gearbox Oil Filter replaced with genuine ZF item
Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor replaced with genuine VW/Audi part
Front ARB Drop Links
Rear ARB bushes
Replacement centre exhaust clamps
Front Wheel Bearing replaced with high quality SKF item
Previous to my ownership all servicing has been kept up to date

I’ve also made a couple of changes via OBDeleven such as engine ‘start stop’ memory so, when switched off or on via the button in the car, it remains set that way and doesn’t revert to on every time the car is started. I’ve also set it so the bootlid can be both opened and closed via the keyfob button. Also included is a Custom Covers UK tailored boot liner.

I am a mechanical engineer with 25 years experience working on cars. With all my cars I prefer to carry out work myself as I am well setup to do so. This Audi has been no different with the only job that I had carried out by a specialist being the injector seals as, if you’re unlucky, the injectors can refuse to come out which is not a situation I had time to find myself in.

Overall a well spec’d car with the important servicing/preventative maintenance carried out, now cleaned and parked in my garage awaiting it’s new owner.
