I’m itching to get on with things inside the garage but some jobs outside needed sorting.
I kept hold of the old fence panels as they were in usable condition and I thought I might be able to reuse parts of them to fence up to the garage walls. This saved me a few quid but also means the fence would match the existing so we didn’t end up with a completely different colour new panel.
Stripped down to size.
New tenons cut
Was able to save one of the old posts which will be used at the front as it will match. Had to buy a new one for the rear.
Spent some time cutting the posts to fit the wall neatly with the fence at the correct angles.
Both posts were drilled and bolted to the walls with stainless coach bolts so they can be easily removed if need be.
Can’t fit the panels yet as we still need to get around the rear of the garage.
Took the opportunity to fit some concrete spurs to a few of the fence posts as they’re not in the best condition. They were unlikely to survive another winter with the crazy winds we get here. I really don’t want to get up one day and find a fence post lodged in the windscreen of one of the cars!
Getting rid of all the old gravel and washing the concrete ready for new gravel.
Time to get some guttering on.
Fishing line set with the required drop to line the brackets up with.
The rear done.
This may seem like an unnecessarily complicated route for the down pipe but the reason will become apparent. 😉
Guttering done.
New gravel and building materials delivered….. 🙂
