I thought it was about time I made the Mayfair les

I thought it was about time I made the Mayfair less slow. I'm not really into the idea of taking a car off the road for years for a long term build. So I've focused my efforts over a few months to get the A-Series out, a K-Series in and the Mini back on the road. The fun side effect of this is, except for the 'patina' acquired during its 25 year life with the previous old lady owner, the little Mayfair currently looks exactly as it did when it left the factory in 1995. The downside is that, on the factory spec' 145 section tyres, it has little to no traction in first and second gears so its 'emergency start' capabilities are not what they could be. I think I'm going to enjoy it being a bit of a sleeper though. 😁

Glad we finally found a Phase 1 Renault Sport Clio 172 for my brother. These are getting pretty rare now and to find one on the right side of 80k miles that isn't a rusty wreck and hasn't been modified or had the interior stripped out for track use is becoming more difficult. We'd been looking for months and missed out on one locally that got snapped up within hours of being advertised then finally this one came up for a sensible price but 6 hours away. After some good information and detailed pictures from the dealer though, my bro decided to take a bit of a chance on it, buy on spec and have it delivered. I reckon it was a good gamble! I want one for myself now. 😁
